Jean Wort has lived in the Town of Highlands since 1980 and been a HHLT Board member since 1990. For many years, with her late husband John, Jean offered Hudson River excursions aboard the Commander, a ferry built in 1917, and a familiar, and much loved, visitor to many Hudson River towns. "I joined the HHLT board because I felt that both banks of the River had to be protected. Here on the West bank, we are surrounded by the open space of the Palisades Park and the U.S. Military Academy. I want to ensure that development on the small amount of remaining land in our town is done in a sensitive manner, and that the Hudson River is accessible to the public."
